Resource Week 10

In this article, Integration and Inclusion-A Troubling Nexus: Race, Disability, and Education, the authors discuss how segregation, not just by color have affected American children but also segregation of disabilities whether it be blindness, cerebral palsy and even children who are said to be “retarded.” However, they also discuss the view of skin color as a disability and a form of disease. As we discussed Schizophrenia was seen as a¬†disease prominent in African Americans and this article just provides more evidence to how race affected¬†the societal stereotypes of disease.
